Animals on board

Some animals can travel on TICV flights (ask at your point of sale for the permitted animals) accompanied by the passenger and paying an amount, as relevant, regardless of the allowance to which a person has the right.

As a general rule, these animals must be checked in and stowed in the aircraft hold. Animals must be accommodated in a pet container that is sufficiently ventilated, waterproofed and secure. We would also like to inform that according to the Royal Decree 287/2000 from the 22nd March, following the Law 50/1999 of the 23rd December; in relation to the ownership of potentially dangerous animal races; canine races that are considered dangerous animals and dogs that weigh more than 20 kilograms, must wear a muzzle.

Sometimes animals may travel with their owners in the passenger cabin as long as the passenger handles its care and transport during the flight, as well as the above requirements, without causing any type of nuisance to nearby passengers.

Both the maximum container measurements 45x35x25 cm (Length x Width x Height) and the maximum weight conditions for the animal, which must not exceed 8 kg (container included), must be respected. The carrying of animals on TICV aircraft is subject to acceptance by TICV.

When reserving or purchasing the ticket, either in the airline or travel agency, advise of your attention to carry a domestic animal on board, describing the animal concerned, and on the day of travelling, take the vaccination card or veterinary certificate for the animal. In compliance with the animal health requirements applicable to pets (Dogs, Cats and Ferrets) the animals must have at least Passport or vaccination card and / or vaccination certificate (rabies) in addition to Microchip or tattoo identification. If the animal is less than three months must be accompanied by passport and / or Veterinary Certificate and authorization by health authorities. This document will be required by the airport personnel to comply with Order 2191 of 23 December 1999, of the Canary Islands Region and Regulation (CE) 998/2003 of the European Parliament and Council of 26 May 2003, whether the domestic animal travels in the cabin with the customer or in the aircraft hold.
